In this session, you’ll learn why WebAssembly is not only for the browser, but you can also execute WebAssembly workloads within your JVM-based applications.We will provide the base knowledge of what WebAssembly is today, where it is going, and the reasons, peculiarities, and potential use cases why it’s an exciting technology you’ll soon be able to leverage in your day-to-day life. We present the polyglot plugin framework Extism and the JVM native WebAssembly runtime Chicory, which allows you to use the power of WebAssembly in your apps today.

Thomas Darimont currently works as a Digital Identity Consultant / Managing Director at Identity Tailor GmbH in Saarbrücken. There he helps customers with the implementation of centralised identity management platforms. Thomas is also part of the OpenID Conformance Test Team at the OpenID Foundation and an official Maintainer of the Keycloak OSS project.
In his spare time, he enjoys organising community meetups and working on open source projects such as Keycloak, chicory and extism. Thomas has been a consistent contributor for over nine years and has been an official maintainer in the Keycloak project since 2021
