Vibe Coding for Health and Happiness

Heinz shares three vibe-coded hobby projects: a translated Greek news RSS aggregator, a Cretan wedding planner with seating constraints, and MeanIF, an intermittent fasting app integrating health devices and AI coaching. He also shows how it serves as an MCP server for LLM-driven wellness insights.

We are all writing code with AI Agents now. But how hard is it to do for someone who has never coded before? And how long will professional programmers still have an edge over ordinary folks?

In this talk, Heinz will talk about three hobby projects that he vibe coded recently. First off, a simple RSS aggregator. Searches for local Greek news, then presents it as a translated RSS feed. Next, a Cretan wedding planner, together with an algorithm of who must NOT sit with whom. Last, a lifesaver - a project called MeanIF - for managing intermittent fasting. Vibe coded for personal use, it now integrates with a bunch of devices. Oura Ring, Garmin bathroom scale, iHealth and Withings blood pressure meters, Garmin watch. Plus buttons for logging start and end of each day's fast, water, booze.

And of course, it has AI built in, with an Embabel powered "Wellness Coach". It also acts as an MCP server, allowing LLMs to use the wellness data to search for trends. For example: "Does summer affect my sleep?" or "What time should I stop eating?"
