Are the version control system wars over? It mostly looks like that, as Git has been the default contender for more than the past 10 years. However, absolute market dominance is not inherently guaranteed. New version control systems are rising on the horizon, with promising new features to simplify development workflows, that are often inherently complex to do with Git. In this talk, we are going to take a look at the history of version control systems, what new rising young stars might disrupt our industry in the future and how to use and integrate them into your existing Git project.
