Juan Fumero, PhD, is a Software Developer in Oracle’s Java Platform Group, specializing in JIT compilation, managed runtime systems, GPU programming, and heterogeneous computing. Previously a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, he led the development of TornadoVM, a framework for accelerating Java applications on GPUs, FPGAs, and other hardware. He holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and has contributed to projects with Intel, ESA, CERN, and Oracle Labs.
