Alex Snaps is a senior principal software engineer at Red Hat, where he works on several open source projects related, directly or indirectly, to the CNCF-hosted Kuadrant project — most recently shifted focus on AI networking and gateway infrastructure. Passionate about distributed systems, programming languages, and performance-related topics, he's currently deep in Rust, tackling systems-level problems from streaming parsers to WebAssembly targets. He has had the good fortune of combining his passion with open source development for nearly 20 years — having written his first lines of code at the age of 8, and never stopped since, more than 40 years later.
