The Joyful Journey from Spring Boot to Quarkus
The talk compares Quarkus and Spring Boot, showing how Quarkus delivers faster startup, lower resource use, and better developer experience. It explains the architectural reasons behind its performance and demonstrates practical, low-cost migration paths from Spring to Quarkus with rapid financial return.

Quarkus applications are quick to code, start fast, and require much less hardware than their Spring Boot equivalents.
They use less memory, less electricity, and handle much higher load. And, most importantly, they feel great to work with.
Fast feedback, great readability, brilliant tools – it’s all about the developer joy.
Can we quantify the financial benefits of switching from Spring Boot to Quarkus? Yes. (Spoiler – it’s good!)
In this talk, Holly will explain the architectural differences which make Quarkus fast. Finally, she’ll demonstrate options for getting from Spring to Quarkus quickly and cheaply, for a near-immediate return on investment.
